Alexander Isaac has been advised by an agent who has found himself at the centre of some controversy in European football since the early 2000s, and Newcastle is his latest fight

Vlado Lemic has once again proved that he is not afraid to throw a cat into a pigeon this summer. Alexander Isaac’s agent sparked one of the biggest transfer debates in recent memory ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Newcastle United striker is now playing for the club that scored 62 goals in 109 games as he is trying to force a move to Liverpool before the windows close. His decision-making, especially his timing, raises many brows.

However, the photos become more clear when he focuses on Remic, one of the representatives who have advised him over the past few weeks. The world of soccer agencies involves making political power moves and turning off parties against each other.

These are skills that have been steadily adjusting the 59-year-old Serbian’s work in the field for over a quarter of a century. What began as a major supporter from his home country to make the move to the Netherlands has now snowballed at one of the world’s largest institutions as part of Universal 22.

During his early work with the PSV in the 2000s, Lemic first fired. He was accused of financial misconduct, which has not been proven, but he saw it being banned from the club’s training grounds.

Four years later, in 2012, FIFA began investigating his role in the relocation of Croatian midfielder Milan Badelgi from Dynamo Zagreb to Hamburg. All involved were contacted by the World Governance Authority after it was allegedly reaped financial benefits from the transaction with inflated fees.

However, they concluded their investigation in February 2013, saying at the time that “After an investigation into allegations by FIFA TMS (Transfer Management System), it appears that Vlado Lemic is not essentially involved in this transfer.”

Meanwhile, Remic worked up the football food chain. He previously brokered a partnership between PSV and Chelsea, so he saw the Bruce signature until Dutch sideloans were able to obtain a UK work permit.

He was said to be behind the relocation of Branislav Ivanovic and Nemanja Matic from Stamford Bridge to Nemanja Matic in 2008 and 2009, respectively. His network of contacts was on an exponential rise across Europe, including Real Madrid, which inserted a £387 million release clause in Lucamodric’s contract when he joined Tottenham in 2012.

Recently, Remic has helped mediate several deals on Ajax. AIK on the Swedish side is said to have similarly cut ties with his agency. Universal 22 agency was approached for comment.

The kicker is that Remic views himself as an advisor rather than an officially licensed player agent. He works closely with several other partners, such as Zoran, a brother licensed by FIFA, and Sven Mislintat, where official communications are usually done with the club.

For example, Gonzalo Gaitan deals with most of the before and after Isak. Ultimately, it’s clear that Remic is usually a guy who gets what he wants in some way and makes money for his advisory services.

That’s the extreme push to that threat to the attack, given that Newcastle is not obligated to sell this summer, especially considering it’s not obligated to search for replacement strikers and hit multiple obstacles. It remains to be seen whether the tactics will pay off or whether Liverpool can improve its £110m bid.
