Mexico City (AP) – Alain Saint Masimin’s A wide range of careers have taken him to Mexico.

The former Newcastle winger has signed a contract with Club America, a top Mexican team said Tuesday.

Sanmaxim, 28, arrives at the La Liga MX after a year of stint with Turkish Fennabafe, who played on loan from Saudi Arabia’s Al Ali.

America, Mexico’s most winning club with 16 league titles, did not give details about the contract. Local media reported a two-year contract worth around $10 million.

St. Maximin is the second French player to play for Club America. Jeremy Menez was the first to win the Apertura 2018 Championship at the club.

The most successful French player in Mexican league history is Andre-Pierre Gignac, who has won five league titles with the UANL Tigres since his arrival in Mexico in 2015 and scored 209 goals in all competitions.

Former French youth international, Saint Masimin made his debut in his home country with Saint Etienne, moved to Monaco and Nice, where he spent four seasons in the Premier League Newcastle in 2019.

He scored 13 goals in 124 appearances for Magpies, but struggled with injuries. ___
