Crystal Palace was upset by lifting the community shield on Sunday by beating Premier League champion Liverpool.

“It’s incredible to beat Liverpool. They’re here, they’re favorites, they have incredible players, they’re a good team,” Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson said. “But we won two trophies in three months at this club. That’s an incredible moment in our history.”
Henderson saved two penalties and Mohamed Sara was fired on Liverpool’s first spot kick. Palace substitute Justin Devenny transformed the winning penalty by blowing up high into the corner and causing a big celebration.
The FA Cup victory marked the Palace’s first major trophy in its history, but soon followed by a community shield in the new season of curtain laning games on England’s top flights.
“Big Performance”
Oliver Glasner’s team had to come from behind twice after New Liverpool’s signatures Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong were both on the score sheet. Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Saal hit for the palace.
“It was a big performance. We were on the same level as Liverpool. I’m really proud of the team and how they played,” Palace coach Glasner said.

However, the shootout came down to a final penalty when Ebebeki Eze hits a shot of him saved by Alison and Borna Sosa into the bar.
