MADRID (AP) — Barcelona says Mark Andreterstegen will return as the first team captain after he announced Friday that the goalkeeper allowed the club to send medical reports to the Spanish league.
The announcement comes after Ter Stegen criticized Barcelona for blaming him for not registering new players, and then criticised him after claiming that his back surgery and recovery timeline was fully approved by the club.
Disagreements led to the existence of 33-year-old Ter Stegen. The club captain was stripped on Thursday.. But that changed on Friday.
“The club has announced that player Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has signed La Liga the necessary approval to send medical reports relating to his surgery to La Liga,” Barcelona said in a statement. “The disciplinary case has been closed and the players are the captains of the first team and once again will be in immediate effect.”
