Villarreal, Spain (AP) – Spanish football club Villarreal signed midfielder Thomas Party on Thursday, two days after he was Rape fee bail In the UK.
Villarreal said Ghana International, 32, who became a free agent when his Arsenal contract expired in June, took part in the “2025-26 season.”
The club’s announcement promoted the on-field attributes of the part before resorting to his legal case.
“The player will maintain his innocence firmly and deny all charges against him. The club respects the basic principles of presuming innocence and awaits the outcome of the judicial process. “Due to British law in relation to ongoing litigation, the club cannot comment further.”
Part was granted bail on Tuesday after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London. He was charged with rape for 5 counts. He is also charged with one count of sexual assault. Between 2021 and 22, alleged crimes have been linked to three women.
Villarreal added, “We hope to clearly repeat our strong commitment to respect and diversity and firmly condemn all forms of violence, including gender-based violence, discrimination, racism, xenophobia, or behaviour that undermines the dignity of an individual.”
The midfielder was expected to join the team at the training ground on Friday, Villarreal said.
Arsenal hosted preseason friendly Villarreal on Wednesday at Emirates Stadium. Part joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid almost five years ago.
Part’s lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, previously said he “denies all charges against him.”
Police said the investigation was held in February 2022 when they first received a report of rape. Partey was charged on July 4th several days after his Arsenal contract expired.
He is scheduled to appear in Old Bailey on September 2nd.
