US Winger Tim Weir completed his move to Marseille on Wednesday after two years of inconsistent stints at Juventus.
French media reports show that 25-year-old Weah will be obligated to buy at a fee that could initially rise to 18 million euros ($21 million).
Wee’s father, former FIFA player of the year George Weeplayed for Marseille for a season – 25 years ago, near the end of his playing career.
Marseille competed in the Champions League last season by finishing as runner-up to Paris Saint-Germain.
Neither Marseille nor Juventus have given financial details of Wee’s moves.
With a total of 78 appearances for Bianconeri, Weah scored seven goals, six of which came last season.
