tRent Alexander-Arnold announced he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. The English fullback confirmed what is an open secret through a video statement about his social network. Arnold did not reveal where his next destination would be, but everything shows that he will be playing for Real Madrid.
“It’s time to confirm that I’m leaving at the end of the season after 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, and this is the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make in my life.
Alexander Arnold announces departure from Liverpool
I know I’m not talking about this yet, or wondering why I’m getting frustrated, or whether I’m getting frustrated, but it’s always my intention to focus on what’s best for the team that’s getting 20.
The support and love I have felt from the academy on and off the club from now on will stay with me forever. I will borrow them forever. But I knew nothing else. This decision involves experiencing new challenges, getting out of my comfort zone and pushing myself professionally and personally.
I’ve been at this club every day and hopefully I feel like I’ve responded during this time. From my heart, I would like to thank all of my coaches, my representatives, my teammates, staff and our incredible fans.
I am fortunate to live my dreams here and never take the special moments I have been lucky enough to experience with all of you as normal. My love for this club will never die.
Criticism from fans
The fullback departure hasn’t worked well with many Liverpool fans. During the season, supporters of the “Red” club clashed with Arnold, questioning their attitude and commitment to the club. Many of them see it as a betrayal to leave the club as a free agent, and are against players like Van Dick and Sarah.
The answers to his latest posts are filled with insults and offensive comments on the players. “Continue running, rat,” one fan replied, and the words “Judah” and “snake” were also common in reply.
