Marseille, France (AP) – Marseille midfielder Ismael Konet has been rented to Serie a Side Sassou as an option to buy.
After joining Watford’s Marseille last year, Canada International struggled to settle down, playing only nine games for the nine-time French champions before being loaned out to Rennes later last season.
The financial conditions for the transaction have not been disclosed. L’Equipe reported that the loan will win Marseille 2.5 million euros ($2.9 million) regardless of Sassuolo’s outcome this season. According to the newspaper, Marseille said it could receive an additional 10 million euros if the purchase option becomes mandatory if it remains in Serie A.
Sassuolo said the option to buy will be mandatory “under certain conditions.”
