Garethbert, a former Real Madrid player who retired in 2023 at the age of 33, is preparing to return to football.
The former Welsh footballer has placed a bid of more than 46 million euros to buy his hometown club, Cardiff City.
I’m interested in Cardiff. It was in my hometown club where I grew up, and my uncle (Chris Pike) performed for them
Cardiff’s current owner, Vincent Tang, is open to selling the Welsh club after being relegated from the championship to League One in May.
The newspaper The Times reports that a consortium led by Bale is trying to buy a soccer team that was linked to the failed acquisition of Plymouth Argyle.
“Being part of the owning group will be a dream come true. I want to be part of Cardiff’s growth and take them to the Premier League.”
Cardiff has already rejected its first private bid from a veil-led consortium.
Gareth Bale will pay Cardiff City less than Real Madrid paid him
The 46 million Veil has to pay for Cardiff City is less than half of what Real Madrid paid for his transfer (99 million) in 2013.
“We’re interested in Cardiff. It was my hometown club where I grew up, and my uncle (Chris Pike) played for them,” Bale, 35, recently admitted.
“Being part of the ownership group will be a dream come true. I want to be part of Cardiff’s growth and take them to the Premier League,” he said.
