Diogo Jota, a 28-year-old Portuguese footballer from Liverpool, died in a traffic accident in Zamora. The accident occurred at 65 kilometres of A-52 at the height of the Zamorana area of Sanabria.

The Liverpool player died when a vehicle travelled along the road and set fire to its fire with his 26-year-old brother Andre (a professional soccer player from Penafil).

According to an eyewitness who warned 112, the car was engulfed in flames and spread to nearby vegetation.

Previously, Liverpool player from Atletico

Diogo Jota, 28, joined Liverpool in 2020 from Wolverhampton for 44.7 million euros. Since then he has played 182 games with the Reds, scoring 65 goals and providing 26 assists. During that time he won three titles with the Reds: the Premier League (2024-25), the FA Cup (2021-22), and the League Cup (2021-22).

Portugal International had a simple spell at Atletico. Rojiblancos signed him from Pacos Ferreira in 2016 for 7 million euros. He was friendly against Crotone and scored (0-2), but he didn’t make his official debut. That same summer he lent to Porto and then borrowed to Wolverhampton before departing permanently in 2018 for 14 million euros.
