Liverpool was about to sign Mark Guech from Crystal Palace on transfer deadline for a move that collapses in the 11th hour when the Eagles pulled the plug
Liverpool was able to move again for Crystal Palace defender Mark Guech in January after his proposed move fell during the summer transfer period. The Reds tried to secure an English International signature on the deadline, but only because the contract would collapse just before the windows closed.
A £35 million agreement was reached between Liverpool and the Palace in September, but the transfer was destroyed after the Eagles were unable to secure a replacement. As a result, Guehi stayed at Selhurst Park, and Reds chose to pursue alternative options at the last time in the window.
Following the failure of the move, questions continue to arise about Guehi’s long-term future, and whether Liverpool will return for centre-back is because the current deal at the 25-year-old will no longer be at the end of the campaign.

Sky Sports has provided new insights into Nguyehe’s outlook amid ongoing speculation that where he might go. The report claims the palace is preparing for a possible exit for Guehi, whether it occurs in January or in the summer.
Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid all have “benefits” over Liverpool. However, the report shows that the Premier League side, including Liverpool, are being seduced to put Guehi’s bid on the table in January, but the price tag required to extract defenders from Selhurst Park during the season remains unknown.
Guehi has already faced Liverpool twice this season, winning both times. The defenders were part of the palace force that helped the Eagles defeat the Reds in August with a Community Shield at Wembley Stadium and in a Premier League clash held at Selhurst Park last month.
It remains to be seen what Liverpool’s January transfer period will be, or whether they are considering signing a new Central Defender.
