According to reports, Joshua Zilky is “deeply annoyed” at Manchester United and is hoping to leave in the window for January. Young Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford last summer and made his Premier League debut with a late winner against Pulham. It was hoping he would hit many goals for United, but so far it hasn’t happened.
The forward only scored seven times in his 53 appearances for the Red Devils, which left him losing his favor. Zirkzee barely kicked since Benjamin Sesko arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer. This season he played just 74 minutes in the Premier League without scoring or supporting.
According to the Daily Mail, Zirkzee has grown “deeply annoyed” with a few minutes of shortage, and there is “many confusion” as to why he hasn’t been chosen by Ruben Amorim.
The report says he is desperate to secure an exit for January to enhance his chances of creating a Dutch team for the upcoming World Cup.
Napoli wanted to sign Zirkzee in the summer, but United opposed to having him leave the club. Rasmus Hojlund eventually joined the Italian Giants on loan, scoring four goals in six games, where he made a comeback.
The move away from United is seen as “absolutely important” for Zilky to revive his career in a similar way, with players having real concerns that he will be left home by Dutch manager Ronald Kayman.
His frustration is said to have been “significantly escalated” in recent weeks. The striker was left as the fourth unused replacement in seven Premier League matches in his recent victory at Sunderland.
It is still unclear whether Zirkzee’s circumstances will change if Amorim is released from his duties in the near future. The United boss of Underfire faces a fight to save his job after overseeing the horrifying start of a new campaign.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carrager recently said he believes Amorim will leave by Christmas and that his position claims he will no longer be able to stay.
Speaking about the overlap fan discussion, he said:
“It’s inevitable that this will happen before Christmas. His stats are incredible for Manchester United’s manager. In his 50 games as Manchester United’s manager, he only scored two goals more than he was recognized.”
