Tottenham Hotspur star James Madison has provided social media updates as he continues to rehabilitate from injuries. The midfielder was taken to Stretcher this summer after what appeared to be a preseason friendly and everyday challenge to the ball with Newcastle United.
It was later revealed that the 28-year-old tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and needed surgery. Madison is expected to remain on the sidelines for quite some time, but if rehabilitation goes smoothly, it could potentially return to the second half of the season.
The injury represents a catastrophic setback for Tottenham’s creative midfielder. However, the former Leicester City star appears to be putting up quite a bit of effort during his recovery process – sharing an update via his Instagram story on Monday.
“0 Resistance BFR (Blood Flow Limit). If you know the struggle, you know the struggle,” he accompanied an emoji with a laughing face. Madison was exercising his right leg with a leg extension.
Speaking shortly after Madison’s injuries occurred, Spurs boss Thomas Frank said:
“We’ll miss him and there’s no doubt he’ll miss out on playing football.”
Writing on Instagram in August, he described the injury as “the lowest I’ve ever had.” “I am heartbroken by the fact that this injury has occurred at this point in my career,” Madison wrote.
“Tomorrow (UEFA) Super Cup, Horizons in the Premier League season, the exciting Champions League campaign, and the World Cup year for England, all feel very cruel.”
Madison moved to the club from Leicester in 2023. He scored 12 goals last season in 45 appearances in North London outfits.
