Nayef Aguerd, who helped Marseille win 3-0 over the weekend, was preparing to join with his Moroccan teammates for an international duties allegedly assaulted at the airport.
French reports say Knife Aguerdo, a former West Ham player, was assaulted at the airport before carrying out international missions with Morocco. The 29-year-old Aguerd recently signed Marseille and flew from a French city on a Sunday night.
The defender was in the VIP lounge while he was waiting for the flight. However, things took an unexpected turn when Aguerd was said to have been attacked. According to local outlet BFM Marseille-Provence, Aguerd was approached by a man who asked for his phone number and a selfie. The man then “squealed and tried to slap him.”
The lounge’s security services immediately intervened, and the man was arrested by police. Authorities questioned the attackers, but Aglud had no time to file a formal complaint before leaving to join his Moroccan teammate.
Aguerd’s Nation will be Friendly welcomed Bahrain on Thursday before hosting Congo in World Cup Qualifiers. Walid Regragui’s team has already booked a position in North America and has won all seven games so far in qualifying.

Aguerd admits that he only acknowledges two goals. The victory over Congo will secure a perfect record as Morocco prepares for the Africa Cup of Nations in December and the World Cup next summer.
Aguerd joined West Ham for £30 million in the summer of 2022 from Ligue 1 Side Rennes. The 29-year-old has made a total of 61 appearances for the Irons and scored four goals. He was one of West Ham’s most famous nights as he defeated Fiorentina 2-1 2-1 in 2023 and won the conference league.
Aguerd was loaned to Real Sociedad last summer and then returned to East London ahead of the new season. The centre-back played 90 minutes in West Ham’s first two Premier League matches before Marseille called out. Roberto de Zerbi’s side paid in the £20 million area for his services.

The Giants in the South enjoy an impressive start to the season and are currently on a four-game winning streak. Marseille defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 last month, then followed the results with a victory through Strasbourg, Ajax and the Mets.
They are sitting second at the Ligue 1 table, one point behind PSG. Marseille’s first match after an international break will travel back to the Lou Herbs home and to face Sports Lisbon in the Champions League, playing for both Newcastle and Liverpool.
