The return of former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to FC Porto was ruined by an unpleasant scene as Benfica showed off a 0-0 draw with rivals at O Classico.
Jose Mourinho returned to FC Porto with Benfica on Sunday, but the game between Portugal’s two biggest clubs looked like objects were thrown in his direction and away fans were fighting each other.
The former manager of Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham was appointed Benfica’s new head coach last month. And in his latest match in charge of Mourinho’s Benfica, he returned to the same club that led him to Champions League glory in 2004 before jumping to the Premier League.
Mourinho’s decision to manage one of Porto’s biggest rivals has disrupted some fans. And unfortunately, Benfica and Porto tied 0-0 with O Closesibo, and the return to the 62-year-old Estadio Do Dragao was ruined by an unpleasant scene.

The Sun reports that Mourinho was targeted by fans who threw objects containing lighters and water bottles in his direction, and such incidents will be stopped on multiple occasions. Other supporters have said that banners directed at previous managers “There’s only one special thing – there’s the Futebol Clube Porto.”
There were also some unpleasant scenes among travel supporters as Benfica fans collided with each other, the report adds. The stewards and police tried to disband the battle that hurt the game.
Mourinho appears to be unaffected by events from the touchline pitch, and is seen picking up some of the objects thrown in his direction.
He was targeted by angry fans, but Mourinho won one with his old club to some degree as he halted Porto’s impressive victory in the league, which had a record of 100% before the game.
This point means that Mourinho has yet to experience a defeat in the league since returning to Benfica.
Porto is finished the weekend and is three points away from the four clearances with Lisbon Sports Lisbon, who sits third in Portugal’s Primira Liga.
