The Rangers player was stuck as the team coach was barricaded by ferocious fans after a draw at low Falkirk on Sunday. Fire Manager Russell Martin, CEO Patrick Stewart and sports director Kevin Selwell face intense scrutiny after winning only five wins in their first 17 games. Supporters reached a boiling point at Falkirk Stadium, leaving Ibrox decision makers with key options to consider heading for an international break.

Angry supporters prevented the team coach from leaving the Falkirk Stadium with an angry show after the Final Whistle. The team was left in the tunnel and the coaches looked for alternative routes to pick them up. Police were found on Sky Sports cameras that oversee the developments.

Eilidh Barbour told Sky Sports:

“The players are still in the tunnel. They couldn’t get on the bus and had to come in different ways to try and distribute the fans with the players on the bus.”

Former Ranger skipper David Weir commented on the incident:

“It doesn’t help anyone, it doesn’t improve anything, but it teaches you the emotions. You can still feel the emotions coming into the stadium today.

Former GERS striker Chris Boyd said, “Listen, the fans have plenty of it. We’ve been saying it for weeks now.

“Listen, there are ways to protest and get things done, but they have the same performance as making the same excuses every week, but you can’t tolerate that.”

Meanwhile, Martin insisted in a post-game interview that he wouldn’t leave the Rangers’ work.

When asked if he doubted his ability to continue the role, he replied: “No.

“So I don’t even get into the equation. I’m still working with players and staff.

“Players are really (good connections, well understood, and hungry.

“It’s been greatly improved. Difficult pitches, difficult conditions – we need to be 1-0 and then get one second.

“But there have been improvements. It may not be a result, but there are not many performances, but we know that everyone wants to win the game.”
