Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall has been dealt with another set of injuries, and the club is waiting for updates on when the defender will return. Hall, who replaced Belgian Union SG in the middle of the week, suffered a hamstring injury that removed him from a collision with Nottingham Forest.
The left back is set for scans next week, and Newcastle will not be able to provide a timeline for recovery until he consults with an expert. The former Chelsea man suffered an ankle injury during a match against Liverpool last season, missing a good portion of the season, including the Carabao Cup final victory over the Reds.
When quized about the hall at last week’s press conference, Howe said:
“He played regularly at the time, and at that moment he looked great physically, but sometimes there’s the idea that he’s forgotten how young he is and that he has to take care of him.”
Looking back at his outlook for this season, Hall said in the trouble of his injury behind him:
“It’s hard to explain – I’ve felt a lot of support from the people at the club, but in a way, it feels like you’re sometimes a bit forgotten, despite me missing out on 11 league games.”
However, this new injury setback raises questions about his absence, and the growing expanded layoffs could loom.
