Manchester United fans serenaded new goalkeeper Senne Lammens after winning their Red Devils debut. The 23-year-old Runmen got their long-awaited first start at United with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Sunderland’s home on Saturday.
The Belgian joined the team of Reuben Amorim in Royal Antwerp, earning their first £18.2 million in transfer deadline. Altay Bayindir played in the next three Premier League matches, but Amorim made the changes after Turkish International struggled in a 3-1 defeat against Brentford last weekend.

Amorim is pleased with Lammens’ performance and results. It was billed as a must-see game for the Red Devils boss, and was charged with speculation that United had been looking for an option to replace him after 11 months of miserable rep and a miserable start.
Prior to Sunderland’s visit, his team lost four of the seven opening games. Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesco’s first half goal was a perfect tonic, and as well as the Sunderland penalty that was overturned after the VAR review, it was a perfect tonic.
“It’s a game that we’re defending well when we’re not playing well,” Amorim told BBC Sports after giving his full response to his suspicious person. “We had moments, focused, competitive, not perfect performance.

“Sennes really did well. Today we were a competitive adult team. We need to win these games with clean sheets. It’s good for us.”
Mount also discussed the Lammens debut, saying, “It was important to maintain a clean seat in the Premier League, and it was very important to score and keep a clean seat in the second half.
“He was solid. When we were under pressure, the option was Ben (Sesco) and we did it again. It’s bustling for him. Everyone was around him today.
