Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesco’s first half goals were enough to secure three points for United, and they came in eighth as they went up the Premier League table and headed sixth to an international break.

Senne Lammens -8
The deadline signing was United’s guaranteed debut. He was confident when he came out for the ball, pulling away from Granite Zaka’s great saves and close to full-time.
It would be difficult to drive him away.
Renee Yoro-7
The French deserved a return to the starting lineup after being benched in the previous two matches. He brings a better balance to United’s back three.

Matthijs de ligt -7
He was constantly wary of danger, and while defending his goals he never left his position himself. He played a key role in United’s second goal and ultimately challenged the flick-on that led to it.
Luke Show-7
He held his spot on the left side of United’s back three, but sometimes moved to a more central position after the interval, with United getting more control over the ball.
Amado-7
He was a constant threat on his right flank. He suffered Sunderland’s defense and was unlucky that he didn’t score when he saw the first half cut through the inside and his goal-bound efforts being saved.
Casemiro -7
Returning to the starting lineup following his one-game ban, he was disciplined in the middle, but he picked up a late, mandatory booking due to a poor challenge.
Bruno Fernandez-7
The United captain gave a lively performance, covering an impressive amount of ground and nearly scored with a sublime chip that Robin Roffs tilted towards the bar.
Diogo Dalot -7
Despite Brentford’s misfortune, Darott held his spot and it was from his long throw that Sesco was able to bag United’s second goal. His energy level was praiseworthy.
Bryan Mbeumo -7
Mbeumo was constantly on Sunderland’s side, providing an assist in Mount’s opening goal and consistently ran dangerously behind the defense.
Benjamin Sesco-7
Sesko found the back of the net for his second consecutive game with a classic poacher goal from close range in the first half. His airborne threat was effectively exploited by United during the match.
Mason Mount-8
Back in the starting lineup, Mount justified his choice by setting United on the path to victory with a brilliantly executed goal. He received a standing ovation when he was replaced.
