Despite the rocky start of the season, Manchester United stands by manager Reuben Amorim, with the 40-year-old showing no signs of resignation. It appears that only the dire consequences for Sunderland could shake this resolve as we head towards an international break. Rumors about Amorim’s future have spread following last weekend’s defeat to Brentford.
The Red Devils managed two wins in their first seven matches in all competitions and are now 14th in the Premier League. They accumulated just 7 points. This is a disappointing follow-up to last season’s 15th place finish. As Sunderland prepared to visit Old Trafford, Chatter grew on the potential threat to Amorim’s position.
Kuroneko started encouragingly after returning to the Premier League, securing three wins and two draws in six games.
However, speaking to NBC Sports, David Ornstein suggested that even a loss might not seal Amorim’s fate. There is a general expectation that he will hold his position.
It is understood that United still has faith in a Portuguese manager who promises to turn the club’s fortunes around. Both parties recognize the need for improved outcomes and note that the team is also supporting the head coach.

Amorim admits he expects a “really tough match” against Sunderland. The Black Cat secured a 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest on his previous outing.
“It’s going to be a really tough game. They’re doing really well,” Amorim said. “And when you look at the game, they draw one player with one player at the end (moment) of the game, draw one point (get it), win in the final play against Brentford, and get three more points.
“I think the details are a big change in the table, so we need to pay attention to that. It’s a team that plays really well and a clear 4-3-3 system with lots of rotation on the side of the pitch.
“They’re confident and we know we’re under pressure. We need to be able to play with it, and we’re prepared for tough, tough games.”
