English fans have learned whether they need to fork tickets at the World Cup next summer – and that won’t be a cheap trip
Fans who want to watch next year’s World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will be paying up to £4,720 for their general admission tickets. Ticket prices are a secret closely guarded by FIFA, revealing that the cheapest tickets start at $60, about £44.
However, a select few fans who are the winners of the first ticket lottery were able to see the full price on Wednesday. Tickets for £44 are available only for group stage matches and are very small in number.
Prices vary depending on whether the host country is active, namely the US, Canada, or Mexico. Group stage tickets start at £44, but go up to $2,735, or around £2,000 for the most expensive tickets for the US opener in Los Angeles.

For games that do not involve Host Nation, the most expensive group stage tickets are in LA, San Francisco, and New Jersey. Category 1 tickets for these games cost $620, which costs around £460.
Prices are fairly consistent in the last 32 and the last 16, but start to rise from the quarterfinal stage. The cheapest ticket for the last eight collisions in LA is $410, just over £300, with the most expensive one at $1,690, which is around £1,250.
In the Dallas and Atlanta semifinals, they’re looking at tickets that cost between $420 and $2,780 (£2,060).
For the final itself, Category 4 tickets range from $2,030 to over £1,500. This will jump to $2,790, or around $2,070 for Category 3. Category 2 tickets priced at $4,210, about $3,120 (£4,720) before Category 1 tickets, which cost around $4,210.
That means travelling England fans is a request for a draw on how much they pay for their tickets. Their location and whether they are portrayed to face the host country will have a major impact on the cost of travel.
The three lions are still joined by some of their fellow homes. Northern Ireland and Scotland both sit second in the qualifying group, while Wales is third, but only a point from the top spot.
