Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has praised his teammate Martin Odegard, claiming that Norwegian playmakers can help Victor Guilyoker score 40 goals in the Gunners season. The Swedes, who joined the Sporting CP for a hefty £63.5 million, have already scored three times in the Premier League since their arrival in North London.
Despite the five-game dry spell across all competitions, Martinelli remains astounding, determined to help the 27-year-old striker rediscover his goalscoring touch. Martinelli expressed his confidence in Gyoker, saying, “We are truly happy with him, trust him, knowing his qualities, and knowing that he is one of the world’s top strikers now.
“And I think it would be good for him to play with Martin, too, for Victor, as well, because his qualities are like he likes to go behind him and attack the opposition boxes.
Gyoker also received praise from manager Mikel Arteta for his efforts on Olympiacos. He didn’t score, but his performance was energetic and threatening, suggesting that on another occasion he might have bagged the braces.
The Spanish boss praised the striker’s show, saying, “He had an incredible performance. As you said, aside from the goal, I think he did the rest of the things you want from the striker.
“The way he links with his teammates, the way he opens up space, the way he constantly threatens the backline. He had three or four big situations where he managed to score goals, so that’s going to come.”
The Swedish forward has been featured alongside various attack partners in recent equipment for squad rotation. However, he is keen to rediscover his scoring form this weekend when West Ham travels to Emirates Stadium for a Premier League clash.
No top flight side recognized more targets (14) than Hammer, who secured a draw at Everton on a maiden outing under Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday evening. He had never faced West Ham’s senior side before, but he found the net twice on two outings against the Irons’ U21 at Brighton.
