Arne Slot suggested that Liverpool has no regrets about Mohamed Sara’s bench after a 1-0 loss to Galatasaray. The Reds managed only four shots on target despite dominating the ball in Istanbul. Arne Slot chose Salah to start on the bench at Rams Park and called out Egypt as part of a triple replacement for the time mark introduced by Alexander Isak and Conor Bradley.
However, Slot suggested he would not have any regrets about the bench of Liverpool’s top goalscorer Sarah last season and his longtime offensive amulet Sarah. Discussing his decision to sign Isaac and spin his team to sign the bench with Mac Alistair and Bradley, Slot said he had no choice but to make changes as Merseyside outfits produced another rewarding display.
Slot states: “We’ve missed the preseason and we have a few players who can’t play all of the games. Well, you’re at the risk of getting injured, which is increasing.
“That doesn’t mean you want to spin all the time, but it means that sometimes it’s necessary because players aren’t ready to play 90 minutes three times over seven or eight days. I really like the team, but there aren’t 25 or 26 people.
“This is a decision we worked together. I fully believe this because it’s very difficult to manage a team if you have 25 people. As a result, Hugo (Ekitique), Alex, Connor and McAlistair can’t have a preseason to play for.
“Jeremy played multiple times as a wingback or right winger for Leverkusen. He played preseason for us. He is one of the players who can replace MOs in that position. I don’t see many others who can play in that position, which is their favorite.
“He always plays for the national team. He’s a player that can play there. Usually, Galatasarei plays really high with the left winger upside down, the fullback is really high, and the winger plays midfield. But they were against today.
“MO has already played a few minutes so I decided to do it this way today. In the first half I was very pleased with how I actually played.”
Despite the slot being happy in the first 45 minutes, it was a first half penalty for Victor Osimhen after Dominique Sobosrai caught Barris Alper Irmaz in the face with the wild arm.
The Reds also injured Alison Becker and Hugo Ekichike in the second half. The Dutch coach has already dominated the Brazilian goalkeeper to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night. This means that Giorgi Mamardashvili will make his Premier League debut.
Liverpool will be desperate to return to successive losses. The victory will at least temporarily bring the gunners onto the table.
