Arsenal beat Newcastle in a thrilling match on Sunday, bolstering their position as a serious contender for the Premier League title. Bukayosaka suffered a nasty wound during the game and was able to immediately join with her colleagues in England in North London if Wayne Rooney’s predictions turned out to be accurate.

Mikel Arteta’s team had a challenging time at St. James Park in a recent season, but Gabriel’s last minute header came out with a 2-1 victory on Sunday. Saka returned to the starting lineup for the victory and showed the wounds of a bloody fight after the match. The Gunners started the game without central defender William Saliba, who came at halftime. Rooney believes Arsenal aims to bolster its defense by targeting Crystal Palace star Mark Guech. The 25-year-old move to Liverpool fell on the deadline and his contract ended next summer. As Express Sports brings the latest news from the Emirates, another Arsenal defender, Julientimbers, was extremely optimistic about his team’s chances of winning the title.

Bukayosaka discusses Newcastle’s wounds

Saka has not taken action since August due to hamstring issues, but he has returned to the Premier League starting lineup against Magpies. However, it was not his hamstring that was injured after the 2-1 victory as he revealed an ankle wound in a post-match interview.

In an interview with Stadium Astro, Jermaine Gennas asked Saka about his bloody socks. He has revealed details of the treatments he endured, but Saka is making it available for Champions League action mid-week.

“You can see my ankles! But come to this ground and you know what to expect, it will be a fight,” he said, pointing to his ankles. “The best team of today won and got what we deserve.

“There was a point towards the end of the game I was on the bench and I felt that it would make me feel that way again.

Arsenal leaned to enter the Mark Guech race

England defender Guehi looked destined to be a Liverpool player on the deadline day, but his transfer fell apart due to the absence of a palace replacement. He currently has many possibilities available to him, including writing pre-contract arrangements with foreign clubs in January and transferring other locations next summer.

Arne Slot’s team wants to finalise Guehi’s contract when the deal ends, but Manchester United legendary Rooney believes Gunners and Rondon’s counterpart Chelsea will challenge Liverpool to his services.

“I think he (Guehi) is a special player,” Rooney said on the Wayne Rooney show. “He’s a good size. He’s the tallest, but he’s good in the air, he can play with both feet, he’s offensive and I think he’ll become a real top player in the next few years.

“Is he at the palace? I really doubt that. I think he has options and he has options not only in the UK but also in Europe. I feel that Arsenal and Chelsea might come in and try to take Liverpool.”

Jurrien Timber is confident in his title leads

Following Arsenal’s victory over Newcastle, placing only two points for Pacesetter Liverpool, which was second in the table, Defender Timber believes his team has all the qualities and mentality they need to claim a championship.

“The belief is there, I think we showed it. The characters on this team are amazing and I have no doubts about it.

“The season is very long. Looking at the schedule, it looks like a tough start – it was a tough start, but now it doesn’t look easy. It’ll be difficult. The game will still be difficult.

“If you want to win the Premier League, you know it’s going to be a long season. You need to stay on top, not just this week. The same goes for next week – and we have to continue.”
