Graham Potter was fired by West Ham United after the Hammers finished 19th in the table after winning one opening five Premier League match.
Graham Potter was fired by West Ham United a few days before the Premier League clash with Everton. Former Nottingham Forest Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is scheduled to be appointed to replace him prior to Monday’s clash.
Hammer is currently 19th in the table after scoring three points from a possible 15, and according to the Times they agreed to a deal for the former Tottenham and wolf boss to instantly replace Potter.
Potter endured the difficult start of life at London Stadium and has put him under pressure this season. With his defeat to Sunderland, Chelsea, Tottenham and Crystal Palace, many are seeking his x.
It remains to be seen who will be responsible for the Monday night trip to Goodison Park. Slaven Bilic has been linked to his return to the club, and Nuno Espirito Santo is often mentioned as one of the predecessors who replaced the former Chelsea boss.
The club’s statement read: West Ham United can confirm that coach Graham Potter has left the club.
“The results and performances do not match expectations between the second half of last season and the beginning of the 2025/26 season. The board believes changes are needed to improve the team’s position in the Premier League as quickly as possible.
“The club can see that assistant coaches Bruno Salt, first-team coaches of Billy Reed and Narciss Perach, lead goalkeeper Casper Anchor Glenn and goalkeeper coach Lina Skandlin were also quick to come into effect.
“The board is grateful to Graham and his coaching staff for spending time with Hammer and wishing all their success in the future.
“The process of appointing an exchange is underway. The club will not comment any more at this time.”
It has been reported that Espirito Santo and Bilic are in conversation with the club’s board of directors. Potter has been under pressure since his 3-0 defeat to Sunderland on Opening Day with a chant “I don’t know what you’re doing” directed at him last week.
“We understand that we are in a tough situation,” he said after his defeat to the palace. “We want to do better than ourselves. That’s not the case at this point.”
