Malo Gusto admitted that Enzo Maresca was justified in delivering a ferocious half-time run for the Chelsea team in his third round victory of the Carabao Cup in Lincoln City on Tuesday evening. Bruce finds himself chasing 1-0 at intervals. I think League One’s outfit definitely didn’t establish a more mandatory advantage.
Imp was peeking into Chelsea’s penalty area with delivery, deadball situations and long throw-ins, but the Blues were unable to register one effort in the goal at the 45-minute opening at LNER Stadium. Swift strikes from Tyrike George and Fakundobnanott, shortly after the interval proves decisive against the lively Lincoln outfit.
Maresca revealed to the media after the match that he was furious with the team at the break, and Gusto admitted that the Chelsea boss was completely justified in his rage.
“Of course, in the first half we played like kids,” Gusto declared when asked about Maresca’s halftime fury. “They bullied us on every part of the pitch, and that was really bad for us.
“It was important for the second half to come back with more desire and confidence. It’s important for the team to continue building these kinds of things.”
The blues defender continued.

“We realised before that. It was a game. The game was about dueling, fighting. So we tried to do more in the second half to show our desire to win. That’s what we did.”
Chelsea’s victory has halted a three-game winning streak without a victory, and they are looking to gather momentum ahead of their Premier League meet with Brighton this weekend at Stamford Bridge.
Gusto is optimistic that his comeback with Lincoln will build confidence, but he recognizes the challenges posed by the Seagulls.
“That’s what we’re trying to do,” the Frenchman said. “They (Brighton) are good teams too, but we know we can compete and beat everyone, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
