Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca went early with his Premier League title predictions.
If Enzo Maresca is filmed at face value, other Premier League title candidates should give up now and Liverpool should be crowned crowned as champions.
Speaking Monday after Chelsea played three games without winning all the competition, Maresca made a pessimistic declaration. “If they continue like this, I think it’s impossible for us, not just for all clubs, to catch them,” the Chelsea boss said.
“They have done a great job since last year. The players they decided to buy are showing they are planning to go back to the Premier League and the Champions League again. That’s very clear.”
Liverpool has won all games this season and already scored five points at the top of the Premier League table. After resorting to a slow over-going goal, they won less drastically over the weekend, beating Everton 2-1 in the Merseyside Derby.

Their position solidified when Arsenal was tied for a 1-1 draw by Manchester City on Sunday. Gunner finished for the third consecutive season with three consecutive Premier League wins, and spent big in the summer transfer window to close the gap.
Mikel Arteta’s team now loses 1-0 to Liverpool and is tied with previous perennial Champions City, suggesting that Liverpool may still be operating at a different level at the top of the league. Pep Guardiola took the unusual step of parking a bus at Emirates Stadium. It suggests that he doesn’t believe he’s coming to that this season.
Chelsea enjoyed a great summer and won the Conference League and Club World Cup, but their final Premier League title took place in 2017. It was clear that Maresca was somehow challenging for the title last season, and was ultimately proven as Chelsea ended up finishing fourth.
