Enzo Maresca’s rotational Chelsea side was forced to come from behind against Lincoln City in the third tier to book their spot in the fourth round of the League Cup. The world champions had to do it in a difficult way, but that is the result of finishing the Capital Club’s three consecutive defeats.

It looked like a worrying night for Chelsea when Louis Montzma rattled the post just three minutes later. The deserved goal finally arrived just before the break as Robert Street took advantage of the disruption in the Blues’ defence to slide the opener.

However, it only took five minutes to flip the script, but Tyrique George proved the main character. The youngsters regained parity by netting the gorgeous equalizer, then slipped Facundo Buonanotte into the second away side. Express sports handout player ratings after a difficult night for Chelsea.

Philip Jorgensen-6

It looked unstable when the ball was being launched into the area by League One outfit. 89 minutes wasted time booked.

Malo Gusto-6

He didn’t bet exactly on the claims of the right backspot that started, but showed a glimpse of the ball’s quality. When Chelsea wanted to watch the game, the game was going to delve into it and managed to get better.

Trevoh Chalobah -5

He was supposed to respond quickly to the danger in front of him, he stepped flat for Lincoln’s goal.

Wesley Fofana-4

His nightmare Chelsea stint continued, with Fofana looking out from his depths from time to time against League One team. The injury certainly costs them, but he doesn’t respect it now.

Jorrel Hato -6

One of the great performers at Chelsea’s backline was, especially when it came to his ability to ball. The teenager should be a classy operator and have a successful career longer than he.

Andrei Santos-6

I got my early yellow cards, but didn’t stop him from covering enough ground.

Enzo Fernandez-5

It’s not the best outing for the World Cup winner at Chelsea Shirt, who is responsible for the passes that leads to Lincoln’s goal. I was hooked on the game with the 20-minute balance from the end.

Facundo Buonanotte -7

He kept his cool in front of the goal when he presented a second half chance, but there was no real clinical edge as Chelsea went looking for a third to kill the game.

Jamie Gitens-5

When he was selected for Fernandez at the back post, he had to net the opener in the first half, but his recent arrival distorted his efforts from close range to the crossbar. I placed myself during his 70-minute cameo, but it was of no quality in almost everything he did.

Tyrique George -8

He has mostly moved from his Stamford Bridge outfit on the deadline day, and finds it difficult to get to the point so far this season. He showed his class the night when some of his teammates went into hiding. He must have been disappointed that it was taken 20 minutes after the time.

Alejandro Garnacho-5

There has been a lot of criticism from Lincoln fans. He rarely impressed his first start for new club Chelsea.

Alternatives:

Shim Mheuka -6

It’s the perfect moment for young people to feature for their first team.

Estevao -6

He didn’t get up very well from the bench.

Marc Cucurella -5

I couldn’t settle into the rhythm little by little here and there. I picked up an unnecessary yellow card.

Pedro Neto -6

He didn’t contribute to the goal, but when he got off the bench he took a step further than most of Chelsea’s attackers. It was a good combination in the final third, bringing us closer to Chelsea’s third netting.
