The importance of Ryan Gravenburch against Liverpool came into view after his victory over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday. The Reds claimed a 2-1 victory over Toffee in the Merseyside Derby, expanding their advantage at the top of the table where five fixtures are currently played.

Gravenberch finished his first Liverpool scoring after arriving at the end of the Mohamed Salah Pass. Dutch International then provided assistance to Hugo Ekitike doubled the home side lead at Anfield.

Gravenberch’s performance has brought many praise across the national and local media as the midfielder continues to be a key figure on Arne Slot’s team.

Gravenberch was an influential figure for the Reds team last season and won the Premier League title, Liverpool Echo reports.

This summer, they earned a reporting fee worth around £40 million, two years after Glenbenberch completed his travel from Bayern Munich to Liverpool.

Gravenberch’s success reportedly caused a wave of “remorse” that wiped out his previous club due to their decision to let him go.

Bundesliga reporter Christian Falk provided insights earlier this year on how Bayern feels about Graven Burch’s success since becoming a Liverpool player.

“Of course there are internal regrets about Ryan Gravenberch leaving the exit from FC Bayern. The club knew what they could do, but they needed something they would never reach in Bayern Munich (given at Liverpool),” Falk told Bayern Insider in May.

“Thomas Tuschel (former Bayern manager) saw Gravenberch play further up the pitch and perhaps the No. 10 or offensive No. 8.

“But this season (2024/25) has proven that the Dutch can play a more defensively oriented midfield role.

“If Tuchel had seen this, Bayern would not have spent 51 million euros (£43.2 million) on Joan Parghía, which is still very painful.

“The credits are Marco Neppe and Hasan Salihamisic who brought him in, but they need a coach who trusts and relies on them. In the end, if players can perform like this in Liverpool, that’s obvious. There was a mistake.”
