Ehring Haaland showed exactly why he is one of the best strikers in world football in Mann City’s clinical goals against Arsenal in Sunday’s Premier League showdown.
Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland continued his ferocious start to Sunday’s 2025/2026 season, scoring his 13th goal in just eight games against Arsenal. Norwegian powers wereted no time at Emirates Stadium. They found the back of the net just nine minutes into the match, dealing an early blow to the gunners chasing the title of Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal duo Noni Maduke and Martin Zubimendi threatened equally in the first half, but City’s new goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was in top form and stopped a series of impressive saves. Arteta shook things at halftime and brought in Buka Yosaka and Ebe Bekieze.
As the second half approached, the psychological battle between the two rivals rose. Gunners emerged from the tunnel in front of their city counterparts, and the home team waited for a few minutes.

Rejoining the fight, Haaland appeared to share a brief exchange with Arsenal’s StarVictor Gyoker. The city striker approached the gunner’s centre forward, putting on a friendly back to him, as the second half was about to kick off, sharing some words.
Given his sparkling shape at the beginning of the season, Haaland is set to play a pivotal role in City’s Premier League title campaign this season. Gyoker, meanwhile, is extremely important to Arsenal’s ambitions, following the prominent moves from Sports CP.
Since joining the club, Swedish International has won the net three times in the Premier League. He aims to match the types of numbers that Haaland posts to City.
Luckily, for the thousands of home fans packed inside the Emirates Stadium, Gabriel Martinelli came out of the submarine, saving the point and avoiding another expensive defeat for Arsenal. That means they are sitting just five points below the league leader and champion Liverpool’s five points.
