Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is back at Sky Sports Reporter after Arsenal snatched a late draw on his side on Sunday. The citizens took a nine-minute lead at Emirates Stadium after Haaland notched the sixth Premier League goal of the campaign. However, Gabriel Martinelli got out of the bench and fired with an equalizer three minutes into stop time at the end of the match, plundering the host.

The city endured a fierce run last week, with the eight-time Premier League champions defeating Manchester United 3-0 last Sunday and beating Napoli 2-0 in the Champions League on Thursday evening. The team also played in the Summer Club World Cup after already playing 57 games in all competitions throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

Guardiola spoke with Sky Sports Reporter Patrick Davison after his final whistle in North London to assess his performance on his part. The reporter asked the 54-year-old about the city’s schedule.

Guardiola sighed as he contemplated his reaction, and Davison added, “A fair question, no?”

And the civil boss cried out: “You’re a journalist, my friend. You understand my process. We’ve been together for 10 years. We’ve had a lot of fatigue and many players have been injured.

“There can be so many things happening, but if you want to bring in the fact that no one complains about your schedule, that’s fine. I’m complaining about your schedule. Are you happy?”

Skyman laughed awkwardly and then after the former Barcelona manager shuffled, he thought Guardiola had enough of the interview. And Davison blurted out: “No, no, wait. Ah, sorry, I thought you were going.”

The interview continued in the end. Guardiola was clearly disappointed that his team couldn’t hold the three points.

Discussing City’s recent match, Guardiola said: “We played a tough game this week – Manchester United and the Champions League (against Napoli) – and today we played against a strong team.

“We wear a hat on our team for resilience. It’s very difficult when you’re not effective with high presses. It’s always difficult with build-ups. We’ve made some transitions.

And the Spaniard added: “Oneutrality was at the top since the transfer window ended, and today it was very demanding and Arsenal had it all – we defended the corner very well.

“We were incredibly tired. The game against Naples was very emotional. After that recovery day, we have four or five hours to go to London.

“Arsenal has fought in the last two Premier League title races and reached the Champions League semi-finals, which is very difficult.”
