Manchester United secured a memorable victory over Chelsea in a thrilling game with both teams decreasing numbers. The West Londoners fired Robert Sanchez just four minutes later on for a horrifying challenge. United quickly took advantage of their numerical advantages, and Bruno Fernandez scored from close range.
Chelsea made three changes in the opening 20 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to prevent United from doubling its lead via Casemiro. He was then shown a second yellow card just before the break. So the numbers were there again. Trevoh Chalobah went home to give Chelsea hope with 10 minutes remaining, but United continued to insist on all three points.
Following today’s chaotic game, United players will be presenting their sports ratings and slates…
Man UTD Player Rating vs Chelsea
Altay Bayindir -6
Mostly, Chelsea were the audience that pinned most of the contest. I stepped flat for Charoba’s late goal.
Patrick Dorgue-8
Stuck from the first whi, bombed forward, and involved in the last third. He grabbed United’s opening goal assist and looked much stronger.
Noussair Mazraoui -7
We were fortunate to not give Joao Pedro a penalty on a big challenge, but he was crucial to United’s build-up play and made some major defensive contributions.
Matthijs de ligt -8
He did his defensive duties well, and also started offensive from the deep and played much higher than usual. Strong performance in both ways.
Harry Maguire-7
Joao Pedro has gotten better for most of the game and helped protect United’s lead. A solid defensive display.
Luke Show-7
United doubled their advantages before the interval, so we headed towards the way of Casemiro. Another good performer on a memorable day for the host.
Bruno Fernandez-8
In the right area he marked his 200th appearance with a goal he scored from close range. He played well in his correct role just behind the front three.
Casemiro-5
He scored a second goal, but disappointed the team by picking up two yellow cards before the break. His second booking was soft, but he should have known better than making a decision to the judge.
Bryan Mbeumo -9
He was United’s architect in the final third, and everything went through him. I looked up at this opportunity and didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger at the shooting position. The best player on the pitch.
Amado-7
After fighting Manchester City last weekend, we needed a great performance. I enjoyed a decent game without illuminating the world.
Benjamin Sesco-6
Using his physical skill and clever movements, he caused problems for the visitors, but failed to score. United tried to shut up the store, so he was hooked on the break.
Alternatives
Manuel Ugarte-6
I came at halftime instead of Benjamin Sesco. I did the basics well in the middle of the park.
Matheus Cunha -6
It was featured on Hour Mark and replaced the Noussair Mazraoui. We hit the loose ball, moved quickly when necessary, and ran a lot.
Rennie Yoro-5
I played the last 20 minutes 20 minutes after coming to replace Harry Maguire. He caught a ball-watching for Charoba’s late goal.
Mason Mount-5
He came in place of Brian Mbeumo for the closing stage. I hardly paid attention to it.
Kobbie Mainoo -n/a
A late addition.
