Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim claims he retains support for Old Trafford’s Chief Jim Ratcliffe despite a miserable start to the new Premier League season
Reuben Amorim claims he still has support for Manchester United co-owner Ir Jim Ratcliffe – despite the club’s worst start to its league campaign for 33 years.
United scored four points from four Premier League matches and sat 14th at the table after a 3-0 defeat to local rival Manchester City in the derby last weekend.
That defeat and United’s poor season – they also left League 2 Grimsby from the EFL Cup – put pressure on Amorim before three league games before an international break that could have a major impact on his future.
Ratcliffe visited Amorim this week at United’s training complex. The 40-year-old head coach claims to be a co-owner of the billionaire in charge of the football business at Old Trafford.

When asked what the meeting was, Amorim joked.
“I talked to him, Omar (Belada, CEO) and Jason (Wilcox, director of football). It was just a regular meeting, as we see all the data around the team.
“This is a football club that is probably putting more pressure on us than anyone else in the world and we want to win. We think the box is doing well. We need to be more aggressive with the box, because we’re defending and attacking, but we need to be better.”
Before tomorrow makes a visit to Chelsea to the old transport, Amorim reveals that Diogo Darott will remain on the sidelines, but Mason Mount and Matthew Cunya, who missed the Derby defeat, are both back-training with the team.
Amorim said: “Darrott is out, Mason is in the squad and Kuni is in the quad. Richa (Lisandro Martinez) is still out.”
