Manchester United signed Senne Ranmens from Royal Antwerp on the deadline for £18.2 million, with the 23-year-old Belgian goalkeeper working hard behind the scenes
Senne Lammens has already made a good impression in Manchester United training after joining the club on the deadline day. Ranmen arrived on a £18.2 million move from Royal Antwerp as Reuben Amorim chose to twist in the goalkeeping division.
United are devastated by mistakes between the posts last season as Andre Onana and Altai Bayindeal struggled with consistency. Onana has been on loan to Trabzonspor this season, with Lammens arriving as a replacement.
The Bay Indeals maintained his place in the Manchester Derby starting XI on Sunday, but the 3-0 defeat did little to persuade Amorim to stick with the Turkish International. Runmen is 23 years old and has played club football in Belgium, and is catching the eye of United veteran third-choice keeper Tom Heaton.
“It was just a few days of training, and he seems like a really good young man,” Heaton said on the Training Ground’s Talent Podcast. “He’s calm, but he has a strong personality. His goalkeeping foundation is very impressive and I think he told him after a few days of training.

“He’s been very impressive up until now in his first few days of training at Manchester United, 23. I really love the basics of his goalkeeping.”
Amorim stuck to Bay Indeal for the Derby. “I think he’s ready to play. It’s a different league, a different country, another ball,” he said. “So they’ll fight for that position. We’re really pleased (with Rammen). He’s a goalkeeper with a lot of potential.
“We’re a moment when goalkeepers need to really have a strong and lot of experience, but that’s a bit because we also have to focus on the future and look at the present. He’s ready.”

Despite missing out, Lammens is pleased to have landed in Manchester. “This is the movement of my dream,” he told MUTV after signing. “When I was five, United was at the pinnacle of football, you remember and keep how big Manchester United is.
“I remember being a kid. Manchester United won the Champions League and won the league. I also want to help the team reach a level where they can compete for the title again and play again in the Champions League.
“It’s also one of my biggest points. I want to grow with the team and go up to the heights that I was Manchester United. This is one of the largest clubs in the world, and the Premier League is the biggest competition in the world.”
