Darwin Nunes scored in both Al Hilal competitive appearances since leaving Liverpool on a £43.3 million deal this summer, winning the net in the AFC Champions League on Tuesday.
Former Liverpool ace Darwin Nunes was one of Al-Hilal’s goals in the opening match of the AFC Champions League against AL-Duhail on Tuesday night. The striker scored his second goal in many games for his new club after leaving Anfield.
Al Hilal launched a group stage campaign against the eight-time Qatar champions, finding he was trailing at the finish line 37 minutes later. However, the Saudi Arabian side was reorganized at halftime, with Nunes equalising in the 57th minute.
Former Liverpool No. 9 has cleverly placed himself in open spaces within the penalty area. His shot may seem like an accidental hit on the grass, but the ball’s bouncing tricked the opposition goalkeeper.
Ex-AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez sealed Al Hilal’s victory with a volley from the edge of the 18-yard box about 10 minutes later, Liverpool Echo reports. Liverpool decided to let go of Nunes this summer. Uruguay International scored 40 goals in 143 appearances for the UK following a £64 million move from Benfica.

His first two seasons under Jurgen Klopp had a steady increase in his contributions in front of the goal when Liverpool won the Community Shield and the Carabao Cup despite facing criticism. However, his role was reduced under Arne Slot last season.
After a £43.3 million move to Al Hilal, the striker was on fire, scoring three goals in preseason matches and continuing his scoring streak in his first two competitive games with his new club. Nunes appears to be thriving away from the pressures of top European football.
Liverpool responded by introducing many new talent, including two centre forwards, after several key players left the team that won slot titles in the summer. The first was Hugo Ekichique, who joined for £79 million from Aintrak Frankfurt.
The 23-year-old scored in his first three competitive matches for the Reds and even chipped with his assist. Ekitike has since continued to lead the slot attacks, signing Alexander Isaac on the £125 million deadline to stand by his time.
The former Newcastle United player rested in Sunday’s match against Burnley, but Liverpool confirmed he will be part of the team due to Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid at Anfield.
