Arne Slot’s Liverpool left it behind again to secure three points in the opening night of the Champions League this season. Virgil Van Dijk found the back of the net in the header at additional time to continue the dramatic ending of Merseysider in this season’s match.

It’s a blink and you miss the first half at Anfield. Just four minutes were on the clock when the home side took the lead. He didn’t embarrass Sarah because of his mysterious goals as the Egyptians danced their trademark defense of Atletico, raising the six-time champions 2-0. Liverpool took their feet off the gas before the break, and the Spanish side took advantage of it. Marcos Llorente scored a suspicious goal for the away team, helping to reduce the arrears just before the break.

There was tension about Liverpool’s play for most of the plays in Liverpool as Atletico began to get out of their shells a little more. Llorente again flashed the shot to the golder. Llorente was not surprised when netting the Madrid-based costume equalizer, albeit with the help of a massive bias. But that wasn’t well proven, but Van Dique delivered the winner late before Diego Simeone fell into rage and left the field. Express Sports delivers player ratings after a dramatic European night at Anfield.

Allison-6

Naturally, as Atletico had initially claimed offside, the shotstopper probably felt bad that the goal couldn’t choke.

Jeremie Frimpong -6

Given his theatrical style and the set up of Atletico’s 10 backs, it’s no surprise that the Dutch spent most of the contest among half of the opposition. His performance didn’t catch any particular eye, but it was just a few minutes after his recent injury.

Virgil Van Dijk -8

The veteran defender’s performance is no longer surprising. Perhaps the only shocking thing is that he continues to be deeply moved in his mid-30s. It was not the first time in Liverpool’s career, but when his side needed him the most.

Ibrahima Conate-6

It formed part of Liverpool’s most powerful centre-back partnership, continuing to be present in the box of set pieces at both ends of the pitch.

Andy Robertson-6

After Milos Kerquez did a show against Burnley, he was brought to Starting XI, and certainly showed his experience in dealing with Atletico’s dark art.

Ryan Graven Burch-8

It seems he picked up last season’s revelation and where he left off this time. It’s very important to everything that Slots and Liverpool wants to turn the ball on and off.

Dominik Szoboszlai -7

It provided much needed energy in the middle of the park and helped link defenses to attacks. Perhaps he’s got a bit better with his dead ball delivery.

Florian Wirtz -6

I enjoyed some fleeting moments, but it wasn’t dazzling at all in the middle or the offense. It was an early age for the Germans. The German is still holding onto his new teammate.

Mohamed Sarah-8

He was the best player on the pitch and wasn’t particularly close. He had no right to pick up the adorable Bobbins free kick assist, but just two minutes later his goal was an eye-opener.

Alexander Isaac-6

Given the Swedish striker barely played this season, it wasn’t a bad first outing for his new club. There were a few snapshots in the first half, but they didn’t exactly bother the Atletico goalkeeper.

Cody Gakpo -5

It was too predictable every time he picked up possessions in half of Atletico, and the visitor’s defense quickly understood him. That Liverpool attack has a lot of competition for locations and if he wants to hold back the spot, he needs to raise his game.

Alternatives:

Hugo Ekitike -7

He was a liverpool standout performer this season, showing his class off the bench once more.

Alexis Mac Allister -6

I placed myself in the middle of the park, but it had little effect on the ball.

Conor Bradley-6

When Atletico began to show a little more ambition, he helped close the space on the right.

Rio ngumoha -6

When he played about 15 minutes and got off the bench, he wasn’t afraid to get on the ball.

Milos Kerkez-N/A.
