Manchester United gave Andre Onana a green light to go out on loan to Trabzonspor, but the Cameroonian star made a complicated debut on Sunday for a Turkish super rig outfit
Andre Onana endured a complicated debut with Trabzons Poll after failing to cover herself in glory in a decisive moment in a 1-0 defeat against bitter rival Fenerbafs on Sunday.
The 29-year-old Cameroon Star confirmed the loan move to Trabzons Poll last week after being given green light to leave Manchester United. He left Old Trafford, which fell behind Altai Bayindeal in pecking order, was also brought from Royal Antwerp on the closing day to strengthen Reuben Amorim’s ranks, following another volatile season of goals.
Afterwards, Onana went straight to his new team action this weekend as she traveled to Fenerbafe with a big Turkish Super Rig Crash. And while his overall display won positive reviews, the Keeper could have done better with Youssef En-Nesyr’s victory goal.

Onana blocked former Manchester United midfielder Fred in a build-up to goal, but all that was waiting for En Nesil to make the most was putting the ball in danger. Trabzonspor played most of the game with 10 men and 10 men after Okay Yokuslu was sent off just 20 minutes later, while Onana has scored at least 8 saves.
The hope is that Onana will rediscover his best form in Turkey after three years of challenge in the Premier League with United. And Cameroonian coach Carlos Kameni believes Onana can even silence his critics and get a big move from the back of a positive season with Trabzon Pol.
“It’s a good choice (to join Trabzonspor). Andre was struggling with Manchester United,” he told African feet. “He was heavily criticized last season and since the start of the season he barely played and understood that everyone, including him, is likely to spend a lot of time on the bench or on the stands.
“I told him he’s right. That’s a good choice. It’s better to be a starter in a very good club in a good league than an alternative to a big club in a big league, right?
“In Turkey, he’s a very good goalkeeper, so while we certainly see him, I think he’s under a bit more pressure than Manchester United.”
When asked if Onana would soon return to the European side, Kameni said, “Yes. He hasn’t lost his qualities at Manchester United. He may experience more complicated spells for several months, as it can happen to all great athletes.
