The Manchester United hierarchy has once again found themselves in a bit of pickle. Reuben Amorim managed just 31 points from 31 Premier League matches, and the Red Devils’ latest humiliation to Manchester City has put pressure on him.
Since taking over in November 2024, only newly promoted teams have fewer points than Amorim’s United. The situation is swirling towards the disaster zone, and the United boss reportedly plans to make his next step.
Miller will visit Chelsea’s Old Trafford on Saturday to kick off, claiming that the former sports coach will only have three matches to save his job. It then becomes a little easier for Amorim, followed by a trip to Brentford and a home match with Sunderland.
It leads to an international break in October, and if things haven’t changed by then, it can spell out the end of Amorim in Old Trafford. But if the three-time European champions choose to plunder Amorim, it will likely cost a lot.

That’s if his unified tenure ended before the first anniversary of Amorim taking over in November. Anyway, we need to unite with our 40-year-old after that, but it could cost quite a bit, given that Erik Ten Hag and his coaching team have won payments worthy of the £14 million rumours.
It’s a completely different question that they replace him, and it is said that five rumored targets are on United’s radar. Considered at United following the departure of Ten Hag, Gareth Southate is one of the potential candidates along with the current trio of Premier League managers.
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Grasner, Marco Silva from Fulham and Andniiraora from Bournemouth are also among the names that created the shortlist of Ineos. All three have been impressed by the mid-table clubs in the Premier League, and are attracting attention in the league and the continent.
And then there’s Mauricio Pockettino, the current boss of the US national team. Mauricio Pockettino continues to link to United’s work despite managing two Premier League teams previously. Pockettino was enthusiastically linked to United’s job before the record champion hired 10 HAG in 2022.
