Rio Ferdinand has changed his mind about the Premier League title race and now believes Arsenal will become a major challenger for Liverpool rather than Manchester City.
Gunners suffered a 1-0 defeat that left them moraleless to title rival Liverpool before an international break, hoping to return to how to win when hosting Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Manchester City has also strengthened, but Pep Guardiola’s men have started the season poorly after two losses in their first three matches.

As a result, they no longer have the support of Ferdinand as one of the main challengers, and he believes Liverpool and Arsenal will take the crown.
“I think you have to always respect the champions no matter who you are,” Ferdinand told the Daily Mail.
“When we see how Liverpool was adopted in the summer, they had the best windows. Their intentions were pure, clean and transparent, and they were able to do everything from Mark Guech.
“I think Arsenal is the only team close to Liverpool this season, and they have a great team.
“We don’t think we’ll meet anyone else. Anyone who thinks it’s Newcastle or Chelsea, I think European football will hinder them a bit in that respect.
