Everton rolled the dice this summer in pursuit of a contract with Jack Grelish. David Moet thinks there will be more after a great start to winger at Merseyside
Jack Grelish may have won his first Premier League player this month. There may also be talk of England’s return. But Everton boss David Moyes believes there is more to come from Toffee’s new hero.
And despite talking about it with him, he has no problem with Grelish’s “Jack the Lad” reputation, so that Scott does not harm him having Maverick on his team. Grealish, who recently turned 30, arrived on loan from Manchester City in Everton this summer. He fell from favor in City under Pep Guardiola, and his own entry, from love for the game. However, he arrived with warnings that he would not step into Everton’s team. He needs to win his spot.
He has four assists in Blues’ two starts in Blues’ victory after a cameo appearance in which Leeds lost off the bench. That led to him being selected as Premier League Player of the Month in August.
“The acclaim for getting players of the month is a big deal. This is the boy who didn’t get it when he was in Man City and he didn’t get it when he was in Aston Villa,” Moe said.

“It just shows you that he’s stepping back. I really believe he’s got two or three more levels. I think he needs to come more.
Grelish will face his old club, Aston Villa, on Saturday when Everton hosted them at Hill Dickinson Stadium. He thought his performance was back to his plays as “freedom” had in the villa. Though Moyes checked Grealish when he nurtured “freedom” when he discussed moving to Merseyside.
The game has changed, and he was like the tactical straight jacket of the city that choked him, but that doesn’t mean he can roam anywhere in Everton’s blue.
Another concern was whether Grealish’s motivation was suppressed. “Jack the Lad” attitude has been good for a while, but questions have been growing about his commitment when it comes to lifestyle.
Since he made the loan move, there was nothing he could see except for Finefettle.
“No, I spoke to him before he came,” Moe said. I mentioned that. Sometimes you have to take the talent of a player, he’s a bit of a heretic, he’s a great player and if we can get the best out of him, that’s what we needed back then.
“We know he can become a young man. He’s a really good young man. I thought, ‘Are we going to get Jack’s grain that we can’t play again halfway through?” That was a big consideration for us – were we getting real Jack’s meat olish? ”
It certainly looks like it was before.
