Wayne Rooney will miss this weekend’s Day broadcast match despite signing a lucrative deal with the BBC earlier this year. The popular highlight show entered the post-Gary Linecar era at the beginning of the Premier League season, and many changes took place.
Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates formed a rotating team of presenters, while Rooney was one of the additions to the group of experts. He was on the panel for the opening episode of the season, but will not act for this weekend’s show.
That’s because Watza was known affectionately during his playing career, and not even on the continent, let alone this weekend. Rooney will be in Korea instead, preparing for the Nexon Icons Match, which will be held in Seoul this Sunday.
Rooney will be part of a legendary match star-studded lineup, serving as Arsenwenger and Rafavenites in the dugouts of two teams. The team will include former Rooney Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand, among others.
Mark Chapman will be joined by Shay Give and Ashley Williams in Rooney’s absence, with the former Red Devils Ace set to return to the crease later this month. Rooney has become a regular on the Panditry scene since he previously worked for Amazon Prime’s Champions League coverage.
However, he went to the record to suggest that he wanted to go back to the coaching scene. He told Talksport following football aid earlier this year: “It’s obviously just working on television at that moment, so that’s what I’m doing.
