Arsenal will be playing against Liverpool for the title this season, and Mikel Arteta has no illusions about the strength of the Arun Slot team following the summer transfer window
Liverpool have gathered the best teams in the Premier League after surpassing £400 million in the summer transfer window, according to Mikel Arteta, who says Arsenal’s title rival is the “strongest” team in the UK.
The Reds broke the UK transfer record twice this summer, first signing Florian Wharts in a deal worth £166 million before authorizing Alexander Isaac’s £125 million move on the deadline. The champions also signed Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giovanni Leoni and Hugo Ekitike for big money to strengthen the team Arne Slot led the previous semester.
Arsenal also spent a lot of time in the windows, jumping out over £250 million to bring in eight new players. They are looking to wrestling the domestic crown from Liverpool after finishing second in their third consecutive season, but Arteta has no doubts as to who the title favourite is following Liverpool’s unprecedented summer spending summer.

“They are certainly the strongest,” Arteta said at his press conference ahead of Saturday’s match against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates.
“They recruited two most decisive players (Isak and Wirtz) who were in Europe in the market. They did really well to do that. They are so powerful, we need to see what we have to do from the standpoint of ourselves and our abilities to be better than them.”
Arsenal ended its 2024-25 campaign about 10 points behind Liverpool, who continued to make their debut slot season with Helm One, which was not fantasized due to the title, but remembered by abdicated Manchester City. At ISAK, they added the second most prolific marksman in last year’s Premier League, behind only their own Mohamed Sarah last year.
The Reds have launched a new season as a Red Hot favorite to maintain their newly acquired crown, but Arteta and Co are expected to be the closest challengers. And Arteta, who has bolstered his own offense with the signatures of Viktor Gyoker’s signatures, has no illusion about the size of the challenge Arsenal is ahead to wait for a league title of more than 20 years.
