Bruno Fernandez heads for Sunday’s Derby. The Manchester United captain faces intense criticism of his emotional exhibit, and many detractors have argued that he is not worthy of leading the club because of his temperament.
However, the 31-year-old midfielder confessed that he could not change the perception of his people, and declared that he would not change his playing style due to outside criticism. “People have an opinion about me, so I can’t change it,” Fernandez said. “It’s the way you want you to judge you about what people see for most people, what they see on the pitch, some of them, what they see on TV, what they see in interviews.”
“You know, I can’t change that. They have the freedom to think about them, so they have the freedom to think about how they want about me. But what I don’t do is not judge people until I know them. They can have an opinion about me.
“We all have different opinions, different opinions. That’s why life is so good, so different. Because if we all think the same way, it’s so boring.”

When asked about how his loved ones characterize him, Fernandez told BBC Sports:
“Everything you can see on the pitch is what Bruno looks like.
“I don’t have as much skin emotion as I do on the pitch, but I’m still very passionate about everything he does.”
