Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca revealed that there is no way to return to the club’s bomb squad. The creepy stars, Raheem Sterling, Axel Disaster and David Datro Fofana all train separately after failing to secure movement from the club.
In a harsh message from Maresca, he insists that he does not welcome them into the team. He also made it clear that he has never seen them this season either.
Maresca said: “First of all, they’re Chelsea players and they’re signing with the club, but at this moment they’re still training away and training. The idea is to keep going the same. I haven’t seen them since the start of the season.
Chelsea have been trying to cut back on their oversized teams for months, but have not successfully moved the trio. Signed by Monaco in 2023 for £38.5 million, Disasi rejected interest from West Ham and Bournemouth this summer.
Sterling, who earned £325,000 for Chelsea and cost £50 million when he moved from Manchester City in 2022, also failed to secure a move. And Fofana, who hasn’t played for the club since May 2023, could have moved to Charlton Fall.
None of them will face Brentford this weekend, and Stamford Bridge doesn’t seem to have a future either.
When asked if there was a way to come back for him now that the transfer window has been closed, Maresca replied “No.”
Any claims involved will move under the previous ownership structure and all accrue before the Italian appointment.
However, despite the potential threat of the resulting point penalty, Maresca insists that the issue will not deflect his team.
He states: “Personally, I don’t think players are too worried about the situation, honestly. I know from the club that they are happy with the situation and the process. There’s nothing to add.
“I always focus on the pitch, like I said. Something I can control. The rest is not in my hands.”
