Andre Onana may have gone on an in-season loan to Trabzonspor, but his Manchester United exit doesn’t offer an immediate solution to Ruben Amorim’s goalkeeping dilemma
If Reuben Amorim thinks his goalkeeping problems will be solved by sending Andre Onana out on loan, he will be encouraged to think again. When it comes to the costly flop at United during the Alex Ferguson era after Alex Ferguson, Onana is there alongside Alexis Sanchez, Jadon Sancho and Antony.
United bought the Onana for £47 million from Inter Milan, despite being a free agent at Ajax a year ago. Due diligence and shrewd investment still seem difficult to bring to the United’s corridor of power.

Onana’s second year as United’s No. 1 was marked by a high-profile impulse. For a while, he saved the relief of players and fans who knew he was more responsible than assets.
But even if Onana is off the picture, Amorim faces a challenge between the posts in that he should pick a goal for Sunday’s Manchester Derby at Etihad Stadium.
Throwing a £18.2 million deadline to sign Runmen in the Manchester Derby heat for their Premier League debut is a dangerous move.
If Amorim chooses Rammen on Sunday and the 23-year-old keeper makes a mistake, the United boss will be criticized for not giving him time to settle down and adapt after just a handful of training sessions.
However, 27-year-old Bayindir has not been convincing this season and has committed a culpable erroneous guilty of Arsenal and Burnley. But he would know what to expect in the city, given his greater experience, as opposed to Rammen.
Against that background, Amorim is terrible if he doesn’t, if he doesn’t, if there’s no one to ultimately get a nod on Sunday. But one thing is certain: Runmen is considered United’s No. 1 keeper in the coming years.
United sources have made it clear that he has not been identified and signed in hopes of coming directly into the first lineup, but his potential is believed to allow him to grow into the role in the long run.
The main strength that Runmen brings is his ability to stop his shots. The top 10 league-wide keepers in Europe have saved more penalties than the Belgian under 21 stars since the start of last season.
Also, Runmen is stronger in the air than Bay Indil and is more comfortable in busy areas. Last season, Runmen emphasized his confidence to stop 44 crosses and get out of the ball more than any other Belgian keeper.
It appears there are a lot of long-term positives from United’s Lammen acquisition and Onana’s off-roading, but it does not provide an immediate solution to the Amorim problem.
Having United established the No. 1 recognized just as Peter Schmeichel, Edwin van der Sar and David de Gere became club legends in the past is the first step towards doing so.
