Ange Postecoglou has been announced as Nottingham Forest’s new manager after two seasons at Tottenham Hotspur, which won the Europa League in May.
Ange Postecoglou joked that he might have to win the trophy in his first season at Nottingham Forest.
The Australian took the reins on the city ground after a whirlwind week that replaced the 60-year-old Nuno Espirito Santo. His record as a manager – something he kept with the Spurs, where he lifted the Europa League – is that he won the trophy in his second season.
However, given the flammable nature of Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, even the straight talk post-coglu admitted that pressure was under.
Asked about his proud history, Forest’s new chief said, “I won several trophies in my first season, and in my first year at Celtic, I won a double.”

When asked if he could win one in his first campaign in the East Midlands, he added, “Yeah, of course I can. I might need to enter my second year.”
Postcoguro said he would call to suspend his 60th birthday celebration and lead him to take over from Nuno on the city grounds.
He said “some peers came to celebrate a kind of ‘hangover’ weekend in connection with the famous film.
It was interrupted by a chat about a potential opening at the former European two-time champion’s home.
When asked how he handles Marinakis, he added:
“People can’t deny that he took over this football club for the right intentions. It wasn’t a way for people to know who they are or throw themselves into the spotlight. He wants to have a team of winners. That’s not easy.
“He went to London and took over one of the big clubs and you are guaranteed success.
“I love the fact that he covered the amazing history of the championship club and he brings it back to Europe.
“There’s a real benefit to doing that, and I think it speaks well enough about the kind of person he’s in.”
