Summer Signature Victor Gyoker angered many with Sports CP when he continued his strike to force a move to Arsenal, but his real character eventually came to the fore

Arsenal striker Victor Gyoker showed his moral fiber by thanking the sports CP despite being fined £306,000 for the memorable CP from last season. The former Brighton and Coventry frontman returned to England in July after Gunner agreed to a package worth the first £55 million for his signature.

Mikel Arteta’s team completed the move after Gyoker spent quite a bit of time moving past the line. This includes effectively going on strike after failing to compete in the preseason preparations for the sport, resulting in him being docked on his July salary.

However, Gyoker watched beyond tensions to thank the sport and its fans after being nominated for Primeira Liga’s 2024/25 Player of the Year on Wednesday. He finished as the top scorer on Portugal’s top flight, the second top flight to maintain the league title in many seasons, helping the Lions win the Takade Portugal final.

“I am truly honored to receive this incredible award,” the Swede said in a video address to fans and his previous club. “Unfortunately, I can’t be there in person to receive it, but I would like to thank the players, staff, all of the club and sports fans who made this possible with support during the season.

“It was an unforgettable season. We won both the Primira Liga and the Cup. Thank you and congratulations to the other candidates and winners. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I love you.”

Gyoker scored 97 goals in 102 appearances in the sport, converting 54 from just 52 games last year. He also scored 14 assists in all competitions last season, earning the Arsenal mark following a brace against Leeds in August.

Talk to the player’s character. Despite the less comfortable exit from sports, his wish was to focus on all the good they achieved together. How can you understand given that Gyoker changed the trajectory of his career in Portugal and transformed from a championship striker to one of Europe’s hottest talents?

One of Gyoker’s representatives, Jonathan Chalkia, is working with Hasan Cetinkaya to handle the forward issue. And his suggestion was that Hugo Viana, the former sports manager who left the club to join Manchester City in June, had agreed with Geeker to join Arsenal just to get muddy following his exit.

“It was a mess. There was a gentleman’s agreement with the former sports director,” he told Swedish network WTV. “If Hugo Viana was still playing sports, the deal would have been in an hour. Everything was written. We didn’t have time to start a legal battle.

“We don’t realize that players who scored so many goals and won three trophies didn’t deserve any more respect. The sacrifice we made was a turning point for the contract to happen. They offered Gyoker to Real Madrid.

Therefore, Gyoker is considered to be someone who thinks he left Lisbon with a mixed reputation after pushing for a transfer. The club responded in kind by fines the former porcher, but the player rose above it to show his class following the final reward from his time in Portugal.
