The Premier League transfer period may have been closed more than a week ago, but Manchester United could close a few more deals this month to continue shaking Ruben Amorim’s side after a tough 2024/25 season.
Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo all moved to Old Trafford, but Rasmus Hojlund heads for the exit and is reportedly permanent if the new side qualifies for the Champions League.
United also had late departures for Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho. They were considered surplus to the requirements at the theatre of Dreams, but required more loan transactions than originally planned.
While the wait for the new Central Midfielder continues – Carlos Valleva still appears to be in the frame. Both Connor Gallagher and Adam Wharton have potential options – United can take advantage of other transfer windows that remain open across the continent.
The Türkiye’s transfer deadline is not until September 12th, and Super Rig Club is still active in the market. This gives United the opportunity to offload more players, Manchester Evening News reports.

Andre Onana will become the most famous player by moving to Trabzonspor on a card. Cameroon International will agree to an in-season loan agreement to secure more first-team football after Senne Lammens arrives.
Trabzonspor is expected to step into Onana’s wage bill, a major boost from United, with goalkeepers enjoying wage increases thanks to the 20% tax rate of super LIG players. Tyrell Malacia could also fly to Türkiye.
The Dutch defender’s loan move to PSV Eindhoven last season was not permanent, and Spanish transfer to Elchi was delayed. The 26-year-old has been gaining the eye of Türkiye and Saudi Arabian clubs this summer.
The latter transfer window will not be closed until September 23rd. Meanwhile, academy player Sammother is attracting attention not only from Germany and Sweden, but also from Türkiye.
United wanted to ensure a permanent move for the 21-year-old, but the loan agreement over the obligation to purchase may still be on the card. Other countries where transfer periods are still open and opportunities may arise include Greece (September 12) and Serbia (September 17).
Former United midfielder Nikki Buttt gave his verdict on the previous club’s summer transfer business, explaining where “Class of 92” members felt the club was wrong.
“I know Cunha has done really well over the past few seasons, but I really want an experienced striker,” he said.
“I hope I’m wrong, but I really hope they don’t make the same mistakes as Sesko as Rasmus. Young players with no experience in the Premier League feel like history is being repeated.
“To be honest, it was costly, so I would have gone and brought someone like Ollie Watkins.
“When a young player is just coming to the club, when they’re scoring goals, if they have some bad games, they have to have a safety net that will be pulled out of the shooting line. Ollie Watkins, or someone like that, I would have wanted to bring it.”
