New Nottingham Forest Manager Ange Postecoglou has built his ambition to improve the surprising 2024/25 campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo and move the club forward and improve.
“You’re responsible for that, but I’m excited. I look forward to it. I’m really happy to be here.”
Postecoglou’s tenure at Spurs was one of the incredible contrasts. He led the club to its first major trophy in 17 years with a UEFA Europa League victory, but also oversaw a disastrous league campaign in which Tottenham was only number one in the relegation zone in 17th place.
However, the 60-year-old always stood for himself and showed unwavering confidence in his methods. So he is definitely able to build on the momentum that Forest has built since he got the “next step” and returned to the top tier of British football.
“This club has real ambitions and that’s really important to me,” he added. “We have an exciting team, and you want to be a part of it because you played against the club last season and you really have a strong unity and know that it is necessary to succeed.
“I’ve worked in this position over the last 28 years because I’ve never put any limits on what I want to achieve. I’ve been fortunate to have had success that allowed me to take the next step wherever I am.

“Looking at what the club has achieved recently, it is a great feat to be where we are now. The other clubs that have received promotions have struggled to stay in the league, but they return to Europe in a short amount of time, and are a great achievement for all involved.
“I think it’s a really exciting time because the club wants more and it gives me a sense that it’s certainly something I want.
“I understand the history of this football club and I understand that there is a responsibility there. I take that responsibility. I am honored and humbled, but more importantly, I am determined to make sure this football club is in a rightful place.”
