England continued their 100% World Cup qualifying record with a 2-0 win over Andorra at Villa Park, but did not inspire attendees.

Thomas Touchel admitted that England should have scored more goals after fans stopped at Villa Park. The stadium was half empty in the final whistle as it worked for a boring victory over Minnow Andorra, ranked 174th in the world.

England boss Tuchel confessed that some of his players were wasted in front of the goal and chose Arsenal’s new boy, Eberechi Eze, who failed to seize his chance. That meant England scored just three goals in two games against the World Cup minnows, a boring incident in front of a sold-out crowd of 39,202 people. However, Tuchel claimed that England will prove their points in Serbia on Tuesday, when they face the toughest match in Group K.

Tuchel said: “It’s difficult because it’s a very different crowd than the Premier League crowd. I think the energy was right. It should have been quality. After the first goal, I lost so much of the ball and lost focus and focus, but I found it again in the second half.

“I think I missed a small moment to accelerate the game. Maybe Ebz (Eberechi Eze) wasn’t having his best day at No. 10. Nuni Maduke’s final pass wasn’t clinical enough, and Marcus Rashford had good moments but couldn’t finish them.

“It’s something that could happen for a small team. The second goal should have come early because it gave us a lot of freedom. In general, I was completely satisfied and performed much better than in June.

“We’ve learned a lot. I’m happy with the players. Now we’re going to prove Belgrade’s point against Serbia.”

However, Tuchel praised his debut Elliot Anderson, saying he wouldn’t hesitate to use Serbia’s Nottingham Forest midfielder in World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday night.

Tuchel added: “It’s very good, very good. He was a little nervous this week, but he did it and told me to give it a try. That’s the test and I think he passed the test.

England’s winger Madueke said: “We won the game, the World Cup qualifiers, the clean sheets, two goals. I’m happy. They’re hard to crack.

“Today was better than we played them last time. We were more fluid. We should have scored more points, but overall we’re pleased with the team’s collective performance.”
